So.....it is easy to assume I'm obsessed with Kickstarter. I love indie comics....indie comics are given life on Kickstarter, and the cycle of me emptying my wallet continues. However, I recently backed issue 2 of The Helix Project, a harrowing tale of a young man who's still picking up the pieces after the untimely demise of his father. However, as we discover throughout issue one Kent may be hiding something more...which is why I'm excited to have seen my digital copy of Issue 2 hit my email this afternoon.
Area 51: The Helix Project #2 (Pocket Watch Press)
Issue #2 picks right up in the thick of things after Kent has thought more about the mysterious letter his mother received while he was at "work." While I want to hold my tongue on the details of their interactions, it is safe to say that M helps us unlock more not only about Kent's past but also may shed some more light on the day his father was shot by a police officer.
What may be more important is more details being unveiled behind the titular "Helix Project." We learn what the governments true motive may be.
The journey of a 30-something father of three who's trying to break into the world of reviewing comics after a loooooong hiatus...
Rimmey is a high school history/government teacher & speech and debate coach in Kansas. He has slowly been rediscovering his love for comics since June of 2019.
