Ludocrats #2 (Image)
By: Kieron Gillen, Jim Rossignol, Jeff Stokely, Tamara Bonvillain, Clayton Cowles

This book is a trip.  In my review of Ludocrats #1, I talked about why some folks may hate this book, because it is so absurd, you need some mental gymnastics to work through the language and circus which is going on.  That is the precise reason why I love it!  While I thought it would be difficult to top the bizarro world of #1, I SHOULDN'T HAVE DOUBTED THE TEAM AT ALL!!!! Because this is a good kind of crazy.  I dead ass read this at 2 in the morning, thought it was a fever dream, re-read it at 2pm today and said, nope, its just that wild and dope.

While it's not for everyone, if you like very sardonic humor, you will enjoy this and not be disappointed!

Dying is Easy #5 (IDW)
By: Joe Hill, Martin Simmonds, Dee Cunniffe

I feel like I am the only person talking about this book (I have not seen a lot of other reviews out there...) Y'all have slept on one hell of a wild story.  Book 5 is the conclusion to Syd's investigation of who is really framing him for the murder of his rival comedian (I guessed wrong).  This book is bonkers, this time you get some stuff that goes down in a weird mermaid club...but the focus of it is still Syd showcasing how great his detective skills are.  I can't say more because it'd spoil a lot...but if you want a non horror Joe Hill book, this was a wild ride.  I'm sad it is done, but on twitter in response to my last review, Joe Hill noted he has further plans for another Shit-Talk Holmes story, which makes me happy!

If you want a good detective story that makes you laugh, gets you guessing, and makes you ask WTF? This is a book you should grab all 5 issues of, and enjoy the ride!

The Flash Annual #3 (DC)
By: Joshua Williamson, Stephen Segovia, Brandon Peterson, Carlo Pagulayan, Brandon Peterson, Jason Paz

I'm always a little afraid to buy an annual.  Most of the time its because there's a connecting thread to something I may not have read, or a throwback to a storyline I wasn't around for.  That was my fear in picking up this Flash annual.  Mostly because I haven't been reading any Suicide Squad...or...read any Suicide Squad ever.  I saw the movie...whoops.

Here's what I can say about this annual.  If you're up on both stories, I bet the payoff is pretty cool. At least Captain Boomerang is in this book...I know who that is, and his role was pretty cool. The art in this book is dope....I liked it, didn't understand all of it....and it won't be the first time I say that with a DC book this week.  But, I'm still learning!
