Justice League #48 (DC)
By: Si Spurrier, Aaron Lopresti, Matt Ryan, David Baron, Tom Napolitano

This is the first in a three story arc written by Spurrier, and it's an interesting one.  The book opens with the league confronting some sort of space-beast which is tearing open a space freighter's hull. Once inside they discover a large number of children who have been cast away from their homeland...by their parents.

As the kids explain their plight, and what is happening on their comet, it all feels a little convoluted, but as I kept going, it got a lot better.  As the JL arrives on the comet, there is an uprising against the leader, and the citizens demand that the JL rule them now, because it's the only thing they can agree on.  What transpires is a fascinating discussion as to whether or not the Justice League should don the mantle of leadership in the name of stability, or reject it in the name of anti-imperialism.  It is fascinating.  I also like the art in the book, the way they encapsulate the uprising is dope and that last page (chef's kiss)!

What should you do? If you are looking to hop into the Justice League, or want to see what can be done by another team (since this cluster is on this small run). It's a low risk entry point, as you don't need to understand anything else or buy any back issues!

Green Lantern S2 #5 (DC)
By: Grant Morrison, Liam Sharp, Steve Oliff, Steve Wands

Look....what the shit is happening in Green Lantern? Last was planet of the giant golden babies...this one looks like it was written in a pop art style (which is dope!) and they are fighting someone who's Superman...but a dick....

Where this book becomes relevant and maybe explains the insanity of the last two books. Morrison is screwing with my mind...but I love it.

What should you do? I'm either going to be super hyped when #6 comes out, or I'm going to set my Green Lantern books on fire....stay tuned in 2 weeks!

DCEASED Dead Planet #1 (DC)
By: Tom Taylor, Trevor Hairsine, Gigi Baldassini, Stefano Gaudiano, Rain Beredo, Saida Temofonte

First, I got the Blade Runner cover, and I'm hype AF.

Second, I still haven't read all of DCEASED (and I need to finish that).

Third, The fact that cyborg can do things as a severed head is DOPE.

Fourth, I'm mad at the ending....but I don't want to spoil it, but these non-canonical DC stories piss me off...I'll add more later!  Don't want to spoil this one because I know some folks missed out on DC this week.
