Building my own Trade--GI Joe

I've been thorough with my new books the past two weeks, therefore instead of buying more new books to read, I decided to finally diminish the stack of books which are unread but filed away.  Thus, I've gone with the theme of "building my own trade" and binge-reading stacks of 5-6 books at a time to clear my back up stack. This week's feature is...

GI Joe #2-5 (IDW)
By: Paul Allor, Chris Evenhuis, Brittany Peer

Picked this up based on a podcast recommendation after book 1 came out.  (But I never got book one....oops...)...

I'm guessing in book 1 we find out that America surrenders to Cobra?!?!?! But the first part of this story arc focuses on a new round of recruits becoming Joes to topple Cobra Command, because JOES NEVER SURRENDER!

Book 2 was an enjoyable read asking if Tiger would ever get to land his punch (like Charlie Brown and the football).  Book 3 focuses on a mission to blow up a bridge (and I'd love to have the Commander platter on a t-shirt), and we discover how obedient and complacent the general public has become under Cobra rule. Book 4, first, I love the cover with Cobra Commander as the man of the year.  This book opens us up to some potential dissent from within Cobra's ranks with Major Blood and Daemon seemingly on the outs.  Book 5 is action packed with the Joes seeking to help a band of rebels from Dreadnokistan with a bunch of shots fired, explosions and a robot which just won't quit.

What should you do?  I'm thoroughly pleased with my decision to pick this book up again, it brings back the nostalgic feeling of playing with my GI Joes when I was much younger!  I'd give this a chance if you are seeking out that same childhood rush again!
